Actually sun is the head of our solar system. सूर्य solar system के मध्य में है। यह एक गर्म गैसों का गोला है। इसके internal core के घूमने के कारण इसमें energy create होती है। इसका व्यास 1.39 km है जो कि, पृथ्वी से 109 गुना अधिक और भार में 3,30,000 गुना अधिक है। सूर्य का लगभग 73% hydrogen, 25% helium और कुछ छोटे-छोटे amount में oxygen, carbon, neon और iron है। यह earth पर गर्मी और energy का main source है। (Information Of The Sun In Hindi)

Sun एक G-Type Star है मतलब कि, न तो यह बहुत गर्म है न ही बहुत ठंडा है। इसकी light सफ़ेद रंग की अधिक है और पीले रंग की कम है इसका मतलब है कि, यह solar system में सही जगह पर है। यह Goldilock planets पर जीवन के लिए अच्छा एक अच्छा संकेत है, goldilock planets वह planets होते हैं जो कि, सूर्य से न तो अधिक दूर होते हैं न ही अधिक दूर क्योंकि सूर्य न तो बहुत अधिक बड़ा है न ही बहुत अधिक छोटा।

सूर्य का core उसके radius का 20%-25% हिस्से को cover करता है।जिसकी density 15g/cm cube मतलब पानी से 150 गुना तक अधिक घनत्व है। सूर्य के core से thermal energy निकलती है जो कि सूर्य की विभिन्न layers से गुज़रते हुए photosphere तक kinetic energy के रूप में जाती है।

सूर्य अभी अपनी उम्र के मध्य पड़ाव पर है यह solar system के 98.86% mass से बना है। यह milky way के 85% तारों से अधिक चमकदार है। यह पृथ्वी में से दिखाई देने वाली चमकदार वस्तु है, यह इसके बाद सबसे पास वाले तारे sirus से 13 billion गुना अधिक चमकदार है।

Earth के centre से सूर्य की दूरी 1 astronomical unit (15,00,00,000 km) है लेकिन जनवरी में perihelion और जुलाई में aphelion में इसकी दूरी घटती बढ़ती है। सूर्य की किरण को पृथ्वी तक आने में लगभग 8 मिनट 20 सेकंड लगते हैं। पृथ्वी पर जीवन का मुख्य माध्यम सूर्य ही है इसकी ही गर्मी से photosynthesis की reaction होती है तथा मौसम में परिवर्तन होता है।

जहां सूर्य की रोशनी कम होती है उस जगह को photo sphere कहते हैं। यह अपनी axis के बजाय अपनी equator पर अधिक तेजी से घूमता है। इसका equator पर rotational period 25.6 दिनों का है जबकि poles पर 33.5 days का है।

● सूर्य का जन्म कैसे हुआ:

सूर्य का जन्म molicular clouds के आपस में टकराने के कारण आज से लगभग 4.6 million वर्ष पहले हुआ था। अधिकतर मलबा सूर्य के केंद्र में जमा हो गया और बाकि का उसकी बाहरी सतह पर जमा हो गया। धीरे-धीरे केंद्र में मलबा nuclear fusion की क्रिया के कारण जमा हो गया एवं घना और गर्म होता गया। nuclear fusion की क्रिया से सभी तारों को गुज़रना पड़ता है इसी परिक्रिया के कारण हमारे सितारे का जन्म हुआ जिसका नाम सूर्य है। इसके core में 600 million ton hydrogen और helium आपस में टकरातें है और लाखों टन energy release होती है इस energy को core से surface तक आने में 10,000 से 1,70,000 तक लग जाते हैं।

● सूर्य का अंत कैसे होगा:

सूर्य का जन्म आज से 5 million साल पहले हुआ था। लगभग 5 करोड़ साल तक यह energy देता रहेगा, इसके बाद इसमें बहुत बड़ा धमाका होगा इस परिक्रिया को supernova कहा जाता है। सूर्य का रंग लाल एवं size बड़ा हो जाएगा और यह mercury, Venus और earth के orbit को अपने घेरे में ले लेगा, पृथ्वी पर कोई जीवन नहीं रहेगा। फिर सूर्य की power समाप्त हो जाएगी जिस stage को white dwarf कहा जाता है। इस पूरे process में लाखों करोड़ों साल का समय लग जाएगा।
