यूटीलिटी थ्योरी अर्थशास्त्र का भाग है जो कि, हर परिस्थिति में लाभ के किये कार्य करना सिखाती है। इसका चलन धीरे-धीरे बढ़ता जा रहा है। इसमे उपभोक्ता अपनी संतुष्टि के हिसाब से किसी उत्पाद का चयन करता है। उपभोक्ता कम लाभ को छोड़कर अधिक लाभ की ओर आकर्षित होता है। (Utility Theory in Hindi)

Utility का मतलब किसी वस्तु को प्राप्त कर के अपनी संतुष्टि को पा लेना होता है।

अगर आप चॉकलेट खाते हैं तो इसका मतलब है कि, आपने चॉकलेट खाकर अपनी मीठा खाने की आदत को संतुष्ट किया लेकिन इसका मतलब यह नहीं कि, चॉकलेट सबकी आदतों की संतुष्टि कर सकती है। चॉकलेट केवल उन लोगों की संतुष्टि करती है जो मीठा खाना पसंद करते हैं उनकी नहीं जो मीठा पसंद नहीं करते। इससे समझ में आता है कि, चॉकलेट का उपयोग सबके लिए भिन्न है समान नहीं। इसका उपयोग अलग-अलग इंसानों के लिए बदलता रहता है इसलिए इसे एक विषय-वस्तु कहा जाता है।

Utility सबके लिए एक जैसी नहीं रहती जैसे यदि कोई इंसान शराब, सिगरेट का सेवन करता है तो वह उसके लिए अधिक प्रयोगी है लेकिन उपयोगी नहीं। किसी उत्पाद का प्रयोग अधिक होना और उसी उत्पाद का उपयोगी होना दोनों अलग-अलग बातें हैं। यह prospect थ्योरी के जैसी है लेकिन दोनों अलग-अलग हैं।

Utility theory is a branch of economics which deals with the profit at any situation. Utility is want satisfying power of commodity. It’s usage has increased gradually. In this theory consumer prefers his choice over purchasing many items with his satisfaction. In this process people tends to chose more profitable product over a less profitable product.

If you eat chocolate it satisfy the want of eating something sweet, but it doesn’t mean that chocolate can satisfy everyone need of eating sweet. A chocolate can only satisfy a person who likes to eat something sweet. So we can say that in economics utility is different for different person. It is not constant. We consider utility as a subject.

Utility is not a useful to everybody. A person likes to consume alcohol, smoking and having drugs but these are not useful for humans so it may be utility but not useful. Utility and usefulness both are different things.

This theory correlates prospect Theory but both are different.
